General Concepts

Sitebuilder is a web site that makes it easy to create your own web site. It uses a series of templates and easy editing tools to simplify the process.

Location

Our Sitebuilder is located at http://sitebuilder.plh1.cartama.net - you can go there now and create a site. Once completed, your site will be available for at least 15 days. Be sure to use the form in the last step to send yourself an email showing the location of your site.

Purchasing Service

To view the site with a real web address like http://www.mysite.com you must purchase hosting service and optionally, a domain name. There is a link at the top of your sitebuilder site that takes you to our online store to purchase service. Choose "Linux Shared Hosting - Basic".

Once you complete the signup process and have paid for your site, your sitebuilder site will be automatically copied to your new site.

Making Changes

If you have NOT purchased service, there is a link in the email you sent yourself in the last step of Sitebuilder that takes you to the right place to edit your site.

If you HAVE purchased service, log in to the Control Panel, and click the System tab at the top. The Sitebuilder button is located on the left side, all the way at the bottom in the Services area. Click Launch Sitebuilder. Once you have finished making changes, use the Publish step to copy the changes to your site. Don't change the settings, they have been preset correctly for you.
