FrontPage
Hosting Platform
We host FrontPage sites only on Windows. The
FrontPage server extensions are available for Linux but do not support 100%
of the features and are a cause of much frustration.
Why does
my
form not work?
Try publishing your site from FrontPage
rather than uploading by FTP. Publishing adjusts the security permissions on
your site so that form results can be saved. Also, "Recalculate Hyperlinks"
from the tools menu fixed many problems.
Why do
file uploads give a "permissions" error?
Users are normally not permitted to upload files to your site as a security
measure. In order to allow file uploads you must designate the folder as an
anonymous upload folder. Right-click on the folder and select Properties.
Uncheck "Allow scripts to be run" and check "Allow anonymous upload".
Publish the site. Your upload page should now work.
Which
versions of Microsoft® FrontPage® do you support?
The servers are running the FrontPage 2002
extensions, which support FrontPage 2003, 2002, 2000, 98 and 97 clients.
My web
site is acting weird
Try "Recalculate Hyperlinks" under the Tools menu in FrontPage. This fixes
most problems. Otherwise, call us.
How do I download a file from my web site to my computer?
For most files all you need to do is display it in your browser,
right-click, and select Save As. However, FrontPage won't let you do
this for files that are hidden, such as some database files. Open your web
site on the server (start FrontPage, File menu, Open, type
http://www.example.com in the Site Name
box, click Open). Find the file you want and click on it. Go to the File
menu and select Export. Now you can save the file to your hard disk.
